We are the Church of England in Worcestershire and Dudley.
Welcome to the Diocese of Worcester.

Our diocesan vision is to grow as Kingdom People, sharing the good news of Jesus’ love in Worcestershire and Dudley.

As the body of Christ, God’s Kingdom People, we join together to worship God, make disciples, share hope, and transform communities as we live out values of love, compassion, justice and freedom.

The Diocese of Worcester is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults to worship and grow in Christ safely.

Licensing of Rob Little as Reader

On 15 September, Bishop John will license Rob Little as a Reader and admit him to the company of Licensed Lay Ministers in the Church of England.

Rob had been an ALM Worship Leader for some time in the Worcester West Team before he started training for Reader ministry. He said: "It's been an evolution rather than revolution for me as I grew in confidence and knowledge. Training hasn't been a breeze, and I will be glad of a rest, but I will miss my fellow trainees who have been so encouraging. I'm amazed how much l've engaged with texts and concepts that just a short time ago seemed like an impossibility".

Rob will be well looked after as he begins ministry: his Rector is also one of the two Co-Wardens of Readers, Phil Bradford, and the other Co-Warden, Kath Davis, will preach at the licensing. Rob feels very privileged to be licensed in his own parish church at what will be the last Eucharist of Admission and Licensing Bishop John presides at as Bishop of Worcester.
Rob's ministry has grown and developed over these last few years, and he is now looking forward to a new stage. "When I had the opportunity to assist with communion on Easter Day I felt just overwhelmed and I'm really looking forward to doing more."

Please pray for Rob as he begins this new Ministry and for all those who are training or thinking about training to become a
Reader in our diocese.
